As the CEO of Cubix, I am saddened and alarmed to report that scammers are using my name, “Salman Lakhani,” and my company’s reputation to carry out fraudulent activities. These scammers have created a fake website and various schemes to deceive unsuspecting people. This article details the ongoing fraud and provides guidance on how you can protect yourself from falling victim to such scams. I hope to raise awareness and prevent others from experiencing the same issues that several people have already faced.

1. Fraudulent Website Impersonating Cubix

The scammers have created a fake website under the domain https://cubixcoweb.com, which is deliberately designed to look like the official Cubix website. They have copied the entire “About” section from our genuine site, https://www.cubix.co/about/, including our team images and company information. This imitation aims to trick visitors into thinking that they are dealing with the legitimate Cubix brand, leveraging our established reputation to lure in unsuspecting victims. The website even uses a similar logo and identical content to reinforce this deception. (Images of these copied sections are attached for reference.)

We’ve also discovered that some fraudulent sites have completely mirrored the Cubix website. Protecting yourself from these imposters by verifying the correct URL before engaging with any site is crucial.
Here are a couple of websites that have illegally replicated the entire Cubix website:
1st site
2nd site

2. Fraudulent Programs Promoted on the Fake Website

The fake site promotes fraudulent programs like a Referral Program and a Membership Program, requiring members to pay upfront for “training” and “membership fees” under the guise of exclusive access to Cubix resources. These programs, linked at https://cubixcoweb.com/h5/referral-program and https://cubixcoweb.com/h5/membership, are purely a ploy to steal money from unsuspecting people. Many have lost their funds through these fraudulent schemes. (Screenshots of these pages are attached.)

3. Fake Phone Numbers and Messaging Groups

Several individuals have reached out to me personally to verify the legitimacy of these scams. I have discovered that the scammers use various WhatsApp numbers and groups to send messages, impersonating myself and Cubix team members. They have exploited our brand to create a network of contacts designed to spread misinformation and attract new victims.

Case Studies of Victims

To illustrate the scope of this scam, here are a few examples of people who have been targeted:

  • Case 1: One of my colleagues was contacted by a scammer using the number +44 7507 690473, asking her to buy Apple Store gift cards. A video of this interaction is attached, showing how the fraudsters attempt to manipulate people by impersonating myself and Cubix.

  • Case 2: A young man contacted me directly, confused about Cubix and the “referral program” WhatsApp group he had been added to. After further investigation, we found out he had been deceived via https://cubixcoweb.com/h5/referral-program, where he was urged to invest money upfront. Screenshots of this interaction are included in the attachments.

  • Case 3: A UK resident reached out to my wife, sharing her experience with the scammers. She had registered on the fake referral site and, after being convinced of the program’s legitimacy, ended up paying 1,000. Unfortunately, she was left with no services or products after her payment.

These are only a few examples, but there are many more cases of individuals falling victim to this fraudulent scheme. I will continue to update this article with additional cases as they come to light.

Protecting Yourself from Scams

Unfortunately, scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their tactics. To help protect yourself, here are some steps you can take:

  • Verify Website Domains: Always double-check URLs to ensure they match the official website of the company. The official Cubix website is https://www.cubix.co, not any variation or imitation.
  • Contact the Company Directly: If you receive an email, message, or phone call that seems suspicious, contact the company directly through their official contact information, not through any links or phone numbers provided in the suspicious message.
  • Beware of Upfront Fees: Legitimate companies rarely ask for upfront payments for membership or referral programs. Be cautious if you’re being asked to pay for training, services, or products before you receive any legitimate documentation or agreements.
  • Don’t Trust Unsolicited Requests: Be skeptical of unsolicited messages or calls that urge you to take immediate action, such as transferring money or purchasing gift cards. Reputable companies will never pressure you into such transactions.
  • Research and Report: Before signing up for any program, research the company thoroughly. If you encounter anything suspicious, report it to local authorities or your country’s consumer protection agency.

I am committed to protecting the reputation of Cubix and ensuring that anyone interested in our services has the correct information. Please be vigilant, and if you have any doubts or questions, feel free to contact me on LinkedIn.

Thank you for your attention, and please share this information to help others avoid falling victim to these scams.
